The float project was created for the 06'-07' winter season by
professional snowboarder Erin Valverde and cinematographer
John Roderick. The film will feature the movement in women's
riding today as well as documenting the lifestyle and environment
that follows it. Riders within the float film will all help to shape the
direction by incorporating there ideas and resources, making it a
truly rider driven and produced film. With much influence from
surf style films the crew aims to produce a project that is both
unique and a honest representation of where female
snowboarding is today.

The Float Film project is a rider driven and produced
film that will focus upon the level of women's riding
today as well as documenting the lifestyle and
environment surrounding their snowboarding. "Float"
the picture will take you into many significant influences;
both persons and places that have shaped and help
mold the women's snowboard industry. The film will
incorporate travel sections to remote and rural locations
world wide as well as revisit some legendary women that
have paved the way for what female riding is today. Shot
entirely in 16mm and HDV, Float will be distributed as a
free DVD cover mount on select snowboard magazine
covers worldwide (Europe, Japan) and be available at
core snowboard snowboard shops throughout the U.S.
via Ally Distribution.
